How to Create A Facebook Fan Page (Super Simple Social Media – Week 5)

One of the biggest no-no’s I see people doing is creating a Personal Profile page on Facebook for their business. Facebook will shut you down if they find out you did this. Facebook Pages are different than profiles. You have a profile for you, Jane Doe, but your business can’t have a profile — it can have a Page.

In this article (and the video below), I show you how to set up your fan page so you can house all the pertinent information about your company in one place with a built-in potential audience

One of the major benefits of a Page on Facebook (as opposed to just having a website) is that it’s so simple to update. With Facebook, you can easily update your page by logging in and typing or uploading – no web programmer or designer required!

Hot Tip #1: Remember, the fresher your content, the more you will engage people = more leads ultimately heading your way.

Setting Up Your Page

Once you’ve logged in to Facebook, scroll to the bottom and click on Advertising. Then click Pages and Create a Page. Select the type of business you own and start filling in all the details.

Watch the video below for a brief explanation of the process of setting up your Facebook Fan Page…

Hot Tip #2: Also remember: Google thinks highly of Facebook in its search engine results. So, the more info you add in your About and Description sections, the better your page will be and the easier it will index on Google and other major search engines!
